How did you attract/address your audience?

On the front cover of my magazine, I advert a ‘Free Poster inside’ and also have an opportunity for the consumer to gain free tickets for a concert this draws the target audience. On the link to the website there is a ‘shop option’ where you can purchase merchandise which is made the artists themselves and many other things like they latest news, music plans, concerts, fan club.

Question 4

This will be a Video

Who would be the audience for your media product?

My target audience ranges from 16-25 this is mainly because I want to attract a younger audience and statistics have proven that mainly a younger audience listen to my genre of music. They do not have to be defined by a certain class, so it could be anyone from Low-to working class. The majority of people who listen to alternative rock tend to be of a white ethnicity but it doesn't matter for my magazine because can read it they can also be male or female. They have to have a good sense of style, someone who is trendy and interested in art, and music.

Question 6

Question 6 ( This question was completed in Microsoft Word)

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Prezi - Prezi – Presentation software online which can be used in different types of ways in terms of presenting for example you can have a current theme or layout. I used Prezi instead of PowerPoint presentation as I found it more interesting and different, it is also a great way to explore and present work. I learnt how to apply an image to the page and editing it by changing the size, also how to customize the background to a certain theme.

Adobe In-Design- Adobe In Design- I can definitely between InDesign and Photoshop, I feel as that it is much more technical in terms of you have to know the basics before you start using the software. In InDesign it is harder to get an object in how you want it to be for example; placing an image you can’t change the size after doing so. You can also have to create your own layers so it isn’t done automatically like Photoshop, I learned how to apply a different font sizes so that it relates to the theme of my magazine.

Adobe Photoshop -
Adobe Photoshop – is graphic editing software which I used for my front cover and double page spread. The first time I used Photoshop I did find it much easier to use than InDesign. We were given an ‘induction’ on how to use it and I understood much faster than InDesign; You have different layers every time you select something on the page, and you can re name by (right hand clicking layer properties )Other than that  I gained a few skills while using this software for example how change the effects of an image using brightness and contrast tool bar, how to place an image over a background by moving the layers over each other so that the image is over the background and is able to show.

Timetoast -
Time toast – An online timeline which can be used by teachers and students. Our first task was create a timeline of our deadlines, I did find the deadlines a bit intimidating as the dates were so close to each other but time toast helped me to stay organised.

FINAL MAGAZINE

Front Cover - Expression Music Magazine, which shows an image of two female artists, the shot is taken at a high angle so it seems as if you are looking down at them. The pricing for this magazine is £2.99 as most rock magazines average pricing is around the £2.80-£.50. The target audience ages range from 16-25, also to receive any extra information you can visit the website www.lesistersmusic.co.uk

Double Page Spread - For my double page spread I did a Q&A which gives away some more information about the two artists on my front cover and explains their story to making music.

The last two questions extended answers:

What are your favourite genres of music?Based around our family, we mostly enjoy listening to 70&80’s music so this will include genres such as Jazz, alternative pop, indie, rock and soul. Our favourite artists/bands are; The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys, London Grammar, Haim, Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, Nirvana, and Oasis the list goes on and on but these are only SOME of our favourites.

Do you have any particular interests or hobbies?
We both have an interest in art, fashion and music mostly as it is all a big part of our lives. Aside from music, we hope to study fashion or art at UAL and we usually like to draw random weird images of anything really as shown in photo B we have ‘ wall of art’ in our room which are images we have both drawn most of them are random or outfits we like to come up with. In Photo A is a small art gallery/shop where they sell artistic merchandise like painting, t-shirts, souvenirs, music CD’s etc, we usually go there weekly to buy the latest coolest stuff and they have great stuff to decorate our room!

                                         Contents Page -
Most rock magazines only contain features, so I did a list of features which relates to the consumer and target audience wise it features other similar artists within that genre of music.
